Welcome to our
Intown Diamond Daycare
Welcome to the Infants Classroom at Diamond Daycare! We are thrilled to have you and your precious infant join our class, and we look forward to a wonderful year ahead. Below, you will find important guidelines and procedures for our infant room:
Open-door Policy:
Parents are always welcome to visit our classroom. Please feel free to stop by or call to check on your infant at any time.
What to Bring:
We recommend keeping at least two full changes of clothing, including shirts, pants, onesies, socks, etc., at the center. Parents may also want to leave an extra pacifier, a hat, diapers, wipes, and bottles from home. Additionally, you may bring a blanket (long enough to tuck around the mattress) and a soft toy for your baby to sleep with. Please ensure that all items brought from home are labeled with your child's name. Blankets should be taken home every Friday to be washed. Sheets, bibs, burp cloths, mobiles, and crib toys are provided by Diamond Daycare.
Daily Sheets:
Each child will go home with a sheet detailing their day, including nap times, diaper changes, food intake, and any notes about needed supplies.
Diapers:
Diapers are changed at least every two hours, or more frequently if needed. Babies are wiped at every diaper change, and ointments are applied as needed, unless otherwise requested by the parent.
Naps:
Nap times are not strictly scheduled in the Infant room. Please let us know what works best for your baby, as infants may fall asleep in various ways.
Bottles and Food:
All bottles and sippy cups must be labeled with your child's name. Diamond Daycare follows the Federal Nutrition Program and provides high iron formula, cereal, meat, fruit, vegetable baby food, and infant-appropriate snacks. Bottles should be prepared at home, and formula must be premixed. Breastfeeding mothers are welcome to nurse their children at the center. When your child is ready for solid food, it will be provided by the center.
Meals:
Our meal schedule is as follows: breakfast at 8:00 AM, lunch at 12:00 PM, afternoon snack at 3:00 PM, dinner at 5:30 PM, and evening snack at 8:00 PM.
We are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for your infant's growth and development at Diamond Daycare. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to speak with any of the teachers in the class. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
At Diamond Daycare, our toddler room is thoughtfully designed to foster nurturing one-on-one relationships between teachers and children. With a capacity of 2 teachers and 14 children, we prioritize individualized care and attention to meet the unique needs of each child while also catering to the needs of the group.
Our structured schedule ensures consistency and stability for the children, with fixed nap times, meal times, and diapering times. However, we also believe in flexibility, allowing for spontaneous indoor/outdoor activities and free play. Every three to four weeks, our dedicated teacher team refreshes the classroom environment with age-appropriate toys and equipment to keep children engaged and stimulated during child-initiated playtime.
While all teacher-initiated activities are optional, children are encouraged to participate and explore new experiences. Our teachers utilize a variety of strategies, including playful interactions, songs, stories, positive reinforcement, redirection, and modeling of appropriate behavior, to encourage growth and development in areas such as self-help, independence, peer interaction, and positive problem-solving.
Our program focuses on age-appropriate goals and skills, such as promoting self-control, fostering age-appropriate health and safety habits, and encouraging the use of emerging language to communicate needs and express emotions in a healthy manner.
Continuous communication between parents/caregivers and our staff is paramount. We provide daily report forms for parents/caregivers to fill out upon arrival, detailing important information such as meals, sleep quality, mood, behavior, and diapering. Our teachers then complete the form, ensuring ongoing transparency and collaboration between home and daycare.
At Diamond Daycare, our preschool schedule and curriculum are meticulously crafted to provide structure while fostering growth and development in a nurturing environment. We understand the importance of preparing children for kindergarten while also prioritizing social and emotional development.
Our daily routine includes a balance of teacher-initiated activities, large group times, quiet reading, large motor activities, meals, nap, and clean-up. We believe in providing children with a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment to engage with during child-initiated playtime, which is refreshed every three to four weeks by our dedicated classroom teacher team.
Large group activities are integrated into our curriculum to enhance attention span, listening skills, and confidence in group settings, while also promoting social and emotional skills. Our weekly curriculum focuses on a variety of subjects, with preschool teachers utilizing playful interactions, songs, stories, positive reinforcement, direction, redirection, and modeling of appropriate behavior to encourage growth and development.
In our younger preschool program, we emphasize expanding social skills, independence, problem-solving skills, and health and safety habits. We also incorporate the Second Step anti-violence curriculum to promote positive interactions and emotional regulation.
For our older preschoolers, our curriculum is designed to prepare them for kindergarten by further developing social skills, attention span, independence, and problem-solving abilities. Alongside the Second Step curriculum, we focus on literacy skills and school readiness, ensuring children are equipped with the tools they need to succeed academically and emotionally.
At Diamond Daycare, we are committed to providing a comprehensive preschool experience that prepares children for the next stage of their educational journey while nurturing their social and emotional well-being.
At Diamond Daycare, we understand the importance of offering a quality School Age program that goes beyond the traditional school day. Our School Age program is designed to provide children with a variety of enriching activities that may not be available during regular school hours, such as music, art, and dedicated study time.
One of our primary goals is to support the social development of children in our School Age program, both among their peers and with adults. We create a positive atmosphere where children feel comfortable and encouraged to engage with others, fostering friendships and building valuable social skills.
At Diamond Daycare, our School Age program is more than just a place to stay after school. It's a vibrant and dynamic environment where children can explore their interests, develop new talents, and form meaningful connections with others. We're committed to providing a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for every child who walks through our doors.
